My Angels

I’d still rather be playing guitar hero. Actually, I would rather be in bed and then wake up, have bacon and eggs, and then be playing guitar hero.

Friday is bagel day in my office. I love bagels but all the chewing makes my jaw sore. I have a hangover but only in strange, isolated parts of my body.

Men are fantastic, but I really can’t wait for Susan and Shirley to finish up with their family holiday vacations and get themselves back to town. I miss them.

They need to learn to play guitar hero too. Every song I hear, I now think “this would be awesome for guitar hero.” It’s coloring my world. At one point last night I imagined wiimote controllers hooked up to a drum game, and visualized the most awesomest drum solo — either Frank Zappa’s “Excentrifugal Forz” on the Apostrophe album (I mean just look at how many drummers are credited to this song, i wonder if they were all going nuts at once?), or Built to Spill’s “She’s Real” off of Caustic Resin. Happy triumphant love song set in NYC, about a million minutes long, perfect. Wow, i’m mangling some grammar today.

It’s silly how playing the video game is actually more fun (and sometimes harder) than playing in real life. For example, I can really play Crazy on You (or i used to, i’m out of practice), but it does me no good in the game, and the game is more fun because of that real rockin’-out noisy dramatic feeling that is missing from plunking away on strings. Plus, there are buttons and colors and stickers you can put on the guitars!

Really, you can’t argue with stickers and colored buttons.

I was too busy and slammed last time there was a ladies’ night and I’m still sorry. We gotta get the band back together... they’re gonna kill me if I say that one more time.

Happy Friday, my angels.
