En Garde

I adopted a new member to add to my family, a classic II. I first saw it on the floor of my friend’s living room, and petted the dirty, pathetic looking thing, pronouncing it Cute in my late night stupor. Then we went back up on the roof and he taught me to fence. This was friday night (7am saturday morning but whatever) and we were hanging out on his lovely rooftop with fabulous views, and plenty of room for learning the opening stance, a couple parries, and moving around. Also, for anyone living somewhere around 7th St. and Ave B, I apologize if your tv was flickering in and out, I sometimes stepped on the cables.

I did alright when he had both swords and I kicked at him (arm very tired). With one foil each, he killed me every time.

Since macs are your friend, they have little hand grips and are easy to carry 9 or so blocks to the F. Only a homeless East Village hipster commented “hey is that an apple I” - “no, a II - wish me luck!” I still need to find a keyboard and mouse, I have no idea if the thing will boot, but we’ll see. They are running everywhere at Tekserve, as cues for people waiting in line. I have considered getting a job there except that I’d trade my check in for stuff all the time. Mostly I see these things functioning as clocks. All I’ve done so far is clean the entire thing with ethyl alcohol.

totally off topic but i just heated the leftovers: I made the most drop-dead fantabulous hash browns yesterday to go on a side a late breakfast, having had a specific craving. they almost rival the lovely ones we’d eat at our “girl breakfast” at Trio’s in DC, when me and the other programmer chicks i worked with would catch up with each other. still the best diner breakfast food almost anywhere and friendly staff. get a stack of chocolate chip pancakes for the table to share. so so good. go there, now. I am the boss of you.
